SOPHIA RODRÍGUEZ POUGET

 

A Colombian-French journalist, writer, editor, and artist, Sophia Rodríguez Pouget is a renowned communications consultant, cultural journalist, and author across various literary genres, including prose and poetry.

A contributor since 2001 to the cultural supplement ‘Lecturas’ (published by ‘El Tiempo’), her chronicles and interviews have appeared in numerous journalistic anthologies. She is the author of books such as ‘Unforgettable stories’ (with a foreword by Juan Esteban Constaín), ‘The day statue of Caldas got off its pedestal’ (with a foreword by Víctor Paz Otero), ‘The Family Capirochipi’ (a children’s story), and ‘Paye, The Life and Poetry of Carmen Paredes Pardo’.

She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and degrees in Social Communication, Negotiation, and International Relations, as well as a specialization in Advertising—all from the Universidad de los Andes and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. She contributes to various national and international media outlets, serves as a communications director for international cooperation organizations and projects, and acts as an advisor for cultural, corporate, and institutional initiatives. For nearly a decade, she directed and hosted cultural programs and special broadcasts on radio and television.

Her foray into the art world with the collage series ‘Iconic’ (2025) and ‘Iconikas’ (2026) earned her recognition within the national art scene for work that critics have described as “synesthetic,” “luminous,” and “sui generis”, noting its “great visual and conceptual impact”.
